Cuts in transmission network could slow down internet in VisMin — PLDT
The internet services of PLDT Inc. and its mobile subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. may slow down in the Visayas and Mindanao regions on Sunday, following "cuts" in its transmission network.
In an advisory posted via Twitter, PLDT said its subscribers, along with those of Smart, Sun, and TNT may be affected by "several cuts" in its transmission network servicing the areas.
NETWORK ADVISORY: PLDT, Smart, Sun, and TNT customers in parts of Visayas and Mindanao may experience a slowdown in internet and data services due to several cuts in the transmission network serving the affected areas.

"Repair work is ongoing at the affected facilities and we expect to restore service within the day," the company said.
According to the Speedtest Awards presented by global network intelligence firm Ookla, PLDT was awarded the fastest fixed network connectivity in the first six months of the year.
Meanwhile, Smart had the highest internet speeds in terms of the mobile data network for the same period.
