Lenovo unveils 9th generation ThinkPads


Lenovo Group Ltd. Monday has unveiled its 9th generation ThinkPad series for the Philippine workforce, with enhanced agility and performance required in the modern workspace.

The 9th generation platform ThinkPads haven been upgraded in terms of portability, enterprise-level security, and power, the company said.

Headlining the 9ht generation ThinkPads is the Lenovo T490 with up to 48 gigabytes (GB) of memory and double data rate 4 (DDR4) random access memory (RAM).

“Technology has made it possible for the workforce to conduct business anywhere, anytime,” said Lenovo Philippines country general manager Michael Ngan during a briefing in Makati City.

“We at Lenovo continue to develop ThinkPad devices that are both exceptionally powerful and portable to meet today’s complex business demands,” he added.

The ThinkPad T490 combines the power of Intel Core processors and NVIDIA graphics, with the option to have a Discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics.

On the other hand, the ThinkPad X390 has a battery life of up to 17.6 hours, with rapid charge feature.

It is 16.5 millimeters thin, weighs 1.22 kilograms, and has a tilt hinge for 180-degree tilting.

Meanwhile, the ThinkPad L390 has a full high-definition 13.3-inch touchscreen with an 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor coupled with up to 32GB DDR4 memory.

Part of the lineup is the ThinkPad E490 with Intel Optane Memory capability and an optional two SODIMM and optional dual-drive storage for better performance.

The ThinkPad E490s is 17.9mm thin, with either an Integrated Intel graphics card or Discrete AMD Radeon 540X graphics.

“We drive innovation that exceeds expectations as we have strengthened our position as the number one player in the PC market and maintain this by persistently evolving our offerings,” Ngan said.
