GrabFood takes in 1,000 restaurants for round-the-clock service
Grab Philippines has partnered with 1,000 quick service restaurants operating around the clock to launch GrabFood’s 24/7 delivery service in Metro Manila and Cebu.
The transport network company is banking on higher demand from “night owls” and employees of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.
Demand for late-night food deliveries is growing, particularly during the 12 midnight to 5 a.m. time slot, Grab noted in a press conference in Makati City.
There was an increase of 13 times in demand for food delivery during that time slot since March 2019.
The partner restaurants include KFC, Jollibee, and McDonald’s, BonChon, Bully Buffalo Wing Bar, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Mister Kabab, and Ersao.
“With the rapidly growing hectic lifestyle, Filipinos now demand more convenient ways of addressing their daily needs,” EJ dela Vega, head of GrabFood for the Philippines.
The delivery service initially covers 20 locations in Metro Manila and Cebu—Manila, Makati, Quezon City, Pasig, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Marikina, Muntinlupa, San Juan, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Mandaluyong, Malabon, Pateros, Navotas, Taguig, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue.
The delivery charge is P49, but may go up to P79 at select times in the early morning.
“Today, students stuck working on a project at school, professionals slugging it through a working lunch, even parents tending to their children can now satisfy their hunger 24/7 via GrabFood,” Dela Vega said. —VDS, GMA News
