Cebu Pacific to refund, or rebook HK flights for free
Passengers affected by the political unrest in Hong Kong can rebook their flights free of charge, or have their plane fare refunded, budget carrier Cebu Pacific said Wednesday.
“The options we provide are to rebook flights for free, refund or put it in a travel fund,” Cebu Pacific vice-president for Commercial Planning Alexander Lao told reporters in a media event in Pasay City.
Cebu Pacific flights to and from Hong Kong were canceled as protesters, opposing the law on extradition to mainland China, took their mass rallies to Hong Kong Airport’s Terminal 1 calling for the release of the protest movement’s leaders who were arrested by authorities.
Cebu Pacific passengers flying to Hong Kong may rebook their flights via other nearby airports such as Macau, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.
“We are certainly coordinating with airport authorities, specifically the Hong Kong Airport Authority,” Lao said.
“I think the situation in Hong Kong is relatively fluid,” he added.
