HK Airport Authority tells airlines to stop selling tickets at airport —PAL

The HK Airport Authority has advised all airlines to cease ticket sales at Hong Kong International Airport, Philippine Airlines said Wednesday.

Airlines have been instructed to stop selling tickets given the ongoing protests in the Administrative Region.

All passengers who wish to book or purchase flights out of the Administrative Region may do so via online at www.philippineairlines.com, or call the PAL Reservations Hotline at (+63 2) 855-8888.

Another option for passengers is to visit the PAL ticket office in Hong Kong at East Ocean Centre on Granville Road in Tsim Sha Tsui East Kowloon.

Airport authorities have implemented tightened security measures after a directive was issued at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

“In view of tightened security measures and access control into the passenger terminal building, HK Airport Authority has advised all airlines to cease ticket sales at Hong Kong International Airport,” PAL said in an advisory.

“Please be advised that all passengers entering the HKIA are required to show their passports and itineraries and/or boarding passes while airline staff are required to present their airport permits or company IDs,” the airline noted.

“All airport access points are manned by Hong Kong Aviation Security and the local police together with airline staff and ground handling agents to assist the screening process,” it added.

At least two PAL flights between Manila and Hong Kong have  been canceled on Wednesday, due to the protests opposing the law on extradition to mainland China. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
