Manny Villar targets to list 3 to 4 companies

After the successful market debut of Villar-led AllHome Corp. and Axelum Resources Corp., tycoon Manny Villar is targeting to publicly list three or four more companies on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

"We have other companies that are ready to list but we are still studying the environment if it is okay to list," Villar told reporters on the sidelines of AllHome's listing ceremony at the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday.

"There will be about three or four possible candidates [for IPO]," he added.

The businessman, however, refused to divulge further details on which of his family's group of firms will go public.

Villar noted that listing new companies will happen "in the next three years."

The Villar group has so far four companies listed on the PSE, including the newly-listed AllHome. The other listed firms of the Villar group are Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., Starmall Inc., and Golden Haven Inc.

The tycoon, who is also a former politician, is ranked by Forbes as the country's second richest person with a net worth of $6.6 billion. Villar is next to Sy siblings, the heirs of Henry Sy Sr., with a net worth of $17.2 billion. — MDM, GMA News
