Cavitex-C5 Link toll collection, Cavitex toll rate hike OK'd
The Toll Regulatory Board has approved the collection of toll in the first 2.2-kilometer segment of the Cavitex-C5 Link Expressway and the upward adjustment on toll rates for the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex).
The provisional initial toll for the C5 South Link Expressway will be collected from motorists starting October 24, Metro Pacific Tollways South Management Corp. said Tuesday.
In a statement, the MPT South said the new toll rates for the first 2.2 kilometers of the C5 South Link are as follows:
- P22 for class 1 vehicles (cars)
- P44 for class 2 vehicles (mini vans and buses)
- P66 for class 3 vehicles (large truck and trailers)
The first 2.2 kilometer of C5 South Link Expressway opened on July 22.
Once completed, the entire 7.7-kilometer C5 South Link Expressway is seen to serve 50,000 vehicles daily, allowing motorists to experience the ease of travelling along the south corridor of the Metro Manila from Cavitex Paranaque Toll Plaza, Las Piñas, Pasay up to C5 in Taguig City in under ten minutes.

The TRB also gave the greenlight for the petition to increase the toll rates collected at the Cavitex.
The new toll rates for Cavitex are as follows:
- P25 from P24 for class 1 vehicles
- P50 from P48 fro class 2 vehicles
- P75 from P72 for class 3 vehicles
The MPT South said Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. continues its work on the P1.1-billion enhancement of the Cavitex, the Phase 1 of which is the P800-million widening of lanes and construction of a left-turn facility at the Marina flyover which opened last December 2018.
The construction is ongoing for Phase 2 or the P300-million widening of bridges in Wawa, Las Piñas, and Parañaque which is expected to finish by May of 2020. — MDM, GMA News
