Airlines offer free cargo space for Mindanao relief ops
Local airline companies on Tuesday have agreed to provide free cargo space for relief operations following the series of earthquakes and aftershocks that struck Mindanao last week.
The Civil Aeronautics Board so announced after an agreement was reached with representatives of the Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine AirAsia in a meeting held on Monday.
Among those who can avail of the free cargo are agencies and non-government organizations already accredited by the three airlines.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia also said they would provide limited free transportation for relief workers and medical personnel certified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Health. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
