AirAsia to resume PHL-Taiwan flights this week
AirAsia is set to resume its flights from the Philippines to Taipei and Kaohsiung this week, as the government lifted travel restrictions to Taiwan.
"AirAsia is set to resume its flights to Taipei and Kaohsiung following the relaxation of travel restrictions imposed by the Philippine government in light of the global health situation," the carrier said in an advisory.
Flights from Manila to Taiwan will resume on Thursday, February 20; from Cebu and Clark to Taiwan on March 1; and, from Kalibo to Taipei on March 30.
According to AirAsia, guests who have not made changes to their bookings will fly as scheduled, provided they fall on the dates mentioned above.
"AirAsia assures that the safety and wellbeing of our guests and Allstars is our top priority. AirAsia is complying with advice and regulations from the local government, civil aviation authorities, global and local health agencies, including the World Health Organization," it said.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that the number of persons under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 has gone down to 171, and 350 others have already been discharged. —LDF, GMA News
