Grab appoints MediaDonuts as its official sales partner in Philippines


Southeast Asian application Grab has appointed digital media and advertisement technology company MediaDonuts as its official sales partner for the GrabAds unit in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Under the partnership, the two parties will focus on strategic planning and media buying support to all local markets and advertisers.

The local team will also work in partnership with the regional and in-market teams of Grab to offer regional and local insights and learnings.

Launched in 2018, GrabAds is involved in digital remarketing capabilities and in-app ads made available through the Grab application with over 166 million downloads.

"We have seen how brands have benefitted from using the GrabAds platform and we hope with this development, we can make this experience available to more marketers in each of our partner countries," said Pieter-Jan de Kroon, managing partner at MediaDonuts.

De Kroon said the partnership would leverage on Grab's platform, which currently covers several services.

"The rice audience data based on real-life behaviors derived from different touchpoints from the transportation to food services combined with a rewarded ads experience makes GrabAds a compelling platform to connect with audiences in a relevant way, driving high returns on advertising spend regardless of campaign objectives,"  De Kroon said.

"We are confident this will resonate well with advertisers everywhere," he elaborated.

Grab Philippines is currently involved in transport and delivery services, with plans to reinstate its motorcycle service once allowed by Philippine laws. —NB, GMA News
