BGC cancels events after Deloitte employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Bonifacio Global City (BGC) temporarily canceled several Sunday activities after an employee of the Taguig-based Deloitte Philippines tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The canceled activities included "My Sunday Dogpark" at the De Jesus Oval, and the "My Sunday Bike Lanes" on 31st street.

In a Saturday statement on its Facebook page, the BGC explained that the cancellations were a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the virus.

"The health and safety of our BGCitizens are our top priority. We advise everyone to do self-protection measures and avoid crowded areas for now," the BGC wrote.

The management also assured the public that they were continuously monitoring the situation and would comply with the measures prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH).

On Saturday, the Health Department reported the sixth confirmed COVID-19 case in the country.
