PAL to continue international flights until March 20
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has canceled all its domestic flights, while international flights will remain operational until midnight of Friday, March 20, 2020.
"We continue to operate international flights up to midnight of March 20, 2020," it said in an advisory on Tuesday.
International airports in Luzon were given a 72-hour window to accommodate all foreigners seeking to exit the country, after which all gateways from the mainland will be closed.
This comes as the entire Luzon was placed under enhanced community quarantine at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night.
"We will announce in due course the status of our international flights from March 20 up to April 12, as we are presently coordinating with government authorities on the relevant implementing details," said PAL.
"PAL will comply with the travel restrictions set out in the quarantine rules," it elaborated.
In the same advisory, PAL also requested passengers to defer any requests for rebooking until after April 12, 2020, citing the social distancing required by quarantine measures.
Still, its ticket office at the Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will remain open from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. — LA, GMA News
