GSIS pension available by April 2 -official


The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will release the pension of its pensioners on April 2 or almost a week ahead of the regular schedule, according to General Manager Rolando Macasaet on Tuesday.

“For our pensioners, their pension credited to their account every eighth of the month, dahil nga po ang sitwasyon, ia-advance po namin ito. Ide-deposit na po namin to at make-credit na ng 9 p.m. of April 1,” Macasaet said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

“April 2, puwede na po i-withdraw,” Macasaet added.

The adjustment was made in connection with the enhanced community quarantine being implemented in Luzon to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As for active GSIS members, Macasaet said assured them that they can apply for a salary loan online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those who have been a GSIS members for at least a year can borrow three months’ worth of their salary, while those who have been a member for 15 years can borrow as much as one year of their salary.

For GSIS members for 25 years and above, they can avail of a loan worth 14 months of their salary.

“They can go to gsis.gov.ph and access the loan facility online. They can download a form and send it to us via email, together with their UMID ID,” Macasaet said.

“Once the loan is approved, ike-credit po sa account nila in seven [working days]. This is the best we can do now kasi karamihan rin po sa mga empleyado ay work from home,” he added.

Likewise, GSIS pensioners can also avail of a loan ranging from P20,000 to P100,000, depending on their age, also through an accomplished loan application they can send via email alongside their UMID ID. --KBK, GMA News
