Villar Group donates disinfecting apparatus to select hospitals

The Villar Group donated and installed disinfecting apparatus in several hospitals across Metro Manila, to counter the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a statement, the Villar Group said it installed a disinfecting apparatus at the Rizal Medical Center in Pasig, and the Quirino Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, and Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City.

"The disinfecting apparatus has a sensor prompting to automatically spray disinfecting mists when people enter the tunnel," the statement read.

The disinfecting apparatus will also be installed at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), Las Pinas General Hospital, San Lazaro, and Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila; and the Don Jose N. Rodrigues Memorial in Caloocan.

The Villar Group, Led by businessman Manuel "Manny" Villar Jr., earlier assured its clients that its operations would continue amid the enhanced community quarantine.

"(We are) undertaking the necessary protocols and measures to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders as well as the communities that we serve. Our lines of communication will remain open and accessible," it said in a statement through Vista Land.

"We are confident that we will overcome these trying times through our resilience and unity as a nation," it added.

Aside from Vista Land, the Villar Group also includes the brands PrimeWater, Planet, All Day Supermarket, Lessandra, and Crystal Clear. — DVM, GMA News
