Gasoline, diesel, kerosene prices up by over P1 Tuesday

Pump prices of petroleum products will be hiked by more than P1 per liter starting Tuesday, a week after restrictions on public transport were eased.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., SEAOIL Philippines Inc. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.75, diesel by P1.10, and kerosene by P1.00.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., PTT Philippines Corp., and TOTAL Philippines Corp. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The firms clarified that the adjustments still do not include the 10% additional duty on imported crude oil and refined petroleum products imposed by Duterte under Executive Order 113 which he signed on May 2.

The changes will take effect 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9 for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes 4:01 p.m. the same day, and Chevron at 12:01 a.m.

According to the latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE), year-to-date adjustments stand at a net decrease of P9.52 per liter for gasoline, P12.44 for diesel, and P16.24 for kerosene.

The gradual resumption of public transportation will be made in two phases, with the first phase from June 1 to 21, allowing trains and bus augmentation, taxis, transport network vehicle services, shuttle services, point-to-point buses, and bicycles.

Tricycles are allowed subject to the approval of the concerned local government unit, while provincial buses are still barred from entering and exiting Metro Manila during the period.

Meanwhile, the second phase will cover June 22 to 30, allowing public utility buses, modern public utility vehicles (PUVs) or jeepneys, and UV Express vehicles.—AOL, GMA News
