Ninja Van Philippines rolls out advance COD remittance service for SMEs

Business clients of Ninja Van Philippines can now be paid for cash-on-delivery (COD) payments a day after orders are picked up from their stores, the express logistics provider announced Wednesday.

In an emailed statement, Ninja Van announced its COD Advance service, which allows small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to receive payments earlier, or a day after shipments are picked up.

Prior to the service, COD payments are only remitted to establishments after the buyer has paid and the delivery has been completed.

According to the company, the service offers zero interest rates, no collateral, and no lock-in period for those who decide to use it.

"We recognize that Philippine-based SMEs have been hit hard by the business restrictions put in place during the early stages of quarantine," said Ninja Van Philippines country head Martin Cu.

"We’re optimistic that this service can further address the issue of cash flow of businesses affected by COVID-19, allowing them to continuously grow their businesses, and have more bandwidth to cover any general or urgent expenses," he added.

The latest announcement comes as Metro Manila continues to be on lockdown, albeit on eased security under the general community quarantine.
