230,000 Manila Water customers to face 6-hour water interruption

Some 230,000 customers of the Manila Water Company Inc. are set to experience a six-hour service interruption this week, as the company will undertake leak repairs in Sta. Ana, Manila.

In an advisory released Monday, Manila Water said the interruption will start 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, and will last until 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

"In preparation for a major pipe interconnection activity, Manila Water will undertake leak repairs in New Panaderos, Sta. Ana, Manila," the advisory read.

It will affect some 47,204 households, commercial, and business establishments in 105 barangays in the cities of Makati, Mandaluyong, and Manila.

"Manila Water is advising residents of the said barangays to store enough water to supply their needs during the interruption period," the advisory read.

"After service is restored, customers are advised to allow a few minutes for flushing before using the water from their taps," it added.

Manila Water is the east zone concessionaire which services 23 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila. The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone.—AOL, GMA News
