Reno liver spread has applied for FDA registration after warning advisory —Domingo
Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) executive director Eric Domingo on Wednesday said the Reno liver spread has already applied for product registration.
On September16, the FDA issued an advisory warning the public against buying Reno liver spread because the product has never undergone an evaluation of the agency.
“Nag-apply na po sila ng certificate of product registration,” Domingo said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Wednesday.
“Sumulat naman po sila sa amin. Nag-explain na noong 2017 nga kumuha sila ng license to operate ng kanilang factory pero hindi sila nakapag-rehistro ng kanilang mga produkto,” he added.
According to Domingo, the FDA is currently evaluating the product for safety. He noted that the agency is still waiting for the food company to submit other requirements but added that the processing of Reno's registration would be swift.
Domingo said the agency will check the products to ensure that no bacteria and chemicals from the cans have contaminated the food. -MDM, GMA News
