Angkas, Joyride receive certificates of compliance —LTO
The Motorcycle Taxi Technical Working Group has issued certificates of compliance to ride-hailing firms Angkas and Joyride for being fully compliant with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the TWG's guidelines as set under the Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Program, the Land Transportation Office said Monday.
In a statement, the LTO said the certificate will be valid for the duration of the Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Study unless revoked or cancelled.
On November 24, Angkas and Joyride received approval from the government to resume their operations.
The MC Taxi TWG gave the two companies provisional authority to operate under the extended MC Taxi Pilot Program.
The extended motorcycle taxi pilot study resumed on November 23, a month after the IATF-EID approved the program’s resumption.
This will be an extension of the initial pilot run to aid legislation on the possible full legalizing of the service. However, this was not completed due to the implementation of quarantines designed to curb the spread of COVID-19. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
