Heavy traffic meets motorists due to Petron 50% off promo; company apologizes

Petron Corporation on Tuesday apologized after motorists were met with heavy traffic due to its 50% discount promo.

The discount on fuel products was offered at participating Petron stations from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a minimum purchase of 1 liter.

While some loyal customers were able to avail of the holiday discount, other motorists were inconvenienced because of long queues at some outlets.

In a statement on social media, the company apologized for the inconvenience caused by the promo.

"It is our desire to extend assistance to the public by offering discounted fuels for a limited period, as well as give back to all the loyal customers who continuously support Petron. We recognize that this activity has caused some inconvenience due to heavy traffic," it said in a statement.

"We sincerely apologize and have taken note of all your feedback and suggestions," the company continued.

Petron also lauded the efforts of traffic enforcers, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and local government units to control the traffic situation in participating Petron stations.
