MPTC waives toll fees along NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, CALAX on Christmas, New Year
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) on Friday announced it will implement a toll holiday along its expressways in celebration of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
In a statement, MPTC said no toll fee will be collected for motorists passing through the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), C5 Link, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) from 10:00 p.m. of December 24 to 6:00 a.m. of December 25 and from 10:00 p.m. of December 31 to 6:00 a.m. of January 1, 2021.
“This simple treat is part of our group’s initiative to give back to our customers especially this holiday season,” said Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) president and CEO Rodrigo Franco.
The tollroads operator said all its expressways are ready for the expected surge in traffic volume with the implementation of the “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” (SMSK) motorist assistance program.
More patrol crews, traffic marshals, security teams, and RFID Assist Squads are deployed at strategic areas of the expressway to ensure safety and provide immediate assistance to motorists, according to the company.
Emergency medical services and incident response teams will also be augmented during the traffic surge, it said.
MPTC noted that construction and lane closures along the expressways’ mainline have been suspended until January 5, 2021 unless safety repairs are necessary.
It added that free 24-hour towing service to the nearest exit for Class 1 vehicles will also be available on December 26 and 27 and Jan 2 to 3, 2021 at NLEX-SCTEX.—AOL, GMA News
