Holcim announces leadership changes


Cement maker Holcim Philippines Inc. on Tuesday announced the appointment of Horia Adrian as the new president and chief executive officer of the country effective next Monday, March 1, 2021.

Adrian, formerly chief executive officer of Romania and the market head of Emerging Europe, joined LafargeHolcim in 200 where he held CEO roles for Russia, Eastern Europe and CIS, and the Middle East.

He will take over from John Stull who will be pursuing another role within the LafargeHolcim Group after three years as the chief executive of Holcim Philippines.

"It is an honor to be appointed as the new president and CEO of Holcim Philippines. The business in the Philippines is a significant contributor to the LafargeHolcim Group and it is truly exciting to continue the remarkable work done under John's leadership," said Adrian.

"It has been a privilege to have worked with the men and women of Holcim Philippines that showed resilience and dedication to growth the company amid the challenges. I am truly grateful for the support given," said Stull.

Holcim is involved in the manufacture, sale and distribution of cement, dry mix mortar products, clinker and aggregates. Along with its subsidiaries, it owns four cement production facilities, one cement grinding mill, five ports, and multiple storage and distribution points across the country.

Its subsidiaries include Holcim Philippines Manufacturing Corp., Excel Concrete Logistics Inc., Holcim Philippines Business Services Center Inc., HuBB Stores and Services Inc., and Mabini Grinding Mill Corp.

Shares in the company opened Tuesday at P6.41 apiece, unchanged from Monday's finish. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/RSJ, GMA News
