QC will issue e-copies of permits to business owners —official

The local government of Quezon City will be issuing electronic copies to business owners applying or renewing their business permits, which will be honored in lieu of the original or printed copies.

“Business establishments can use the e-copy while their original or authenticated copy is yet to be released,” the head of the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) Margie Santos said.

Electronic copies will be issued through the Quezon City E-Services online portal, which Santos described as "more convenient."

Santos said that filing an application online should be a consideration as the Quezon City will reboot its in-person appointment system for the releasing of business permits on February 28.

The BPLD will cancel all of the pre-booked appointment slots, after it found out that a group of individuals secured thousands of appointment slots without definite transactions, leaving no opportunities for other business owners to secure their slots.

“By March 1, our system will allow the use of an email address only once at a time. And if the user of the said email address failed to show up on his/her date of appointment thrice, then that email address will be blocked," Santos said. —LBG, GMA News
