Globe urges healthcare sector to adopt digital solutions amid pandemic
The country's healthcare sector should implement digital solutions that will "future-proof" its transactions and services and make them efficient and cost-effective amid the challenges posed by the global pandemic.
This was according to Globe Telecom's enterprise arm Globe Business, which has partnered with BPI Business Banking to offer the Business Technology Loan Program, an exclusive term loan facility specifically for the purchase of the firm's information and communications technology business solutions.
Maridol Ylanan, head of Strategy and Marketing for Small and Medium Business, said Globe Business supports the digitization and future-proofing of healthcare institutions to create a better experience for both patients and healthcare providers, and improve their services at reduced operational cost.
She stressed that digital technologies can play a pivotal role in the transformation of healthcare institutions, to promote efficiency, reduce cost, and achieve overall quality healthcare for Filipinos.
According to Ylanan, among their digital tools is the Hospital Information System (HIS), offered in partnership with HYBrain and is intended to support healthcare institutions in providing efficient and faster data sharing, effectively cutting down the time to complete transactions, and eventually reduce cost.
Healthcare institutions can use this solution to efficiently process the admission and discharge processes, tag and track their assets, manage their human resources, effectively create an ecosystem within the hospital and their private doctors, automate submission of eClaims, and infection prevention monitoring and control, she said.
She said that with the government’s push to modernize healthcare delivery, healthcare institutions should begin to consider the benefits of adopting digital solutions to their operations.
“Strategic alliances and collaborations are critical in establishing digital innovations in the healthcare sector, achieve efficient and affordable services, and improve the overall quality of healthcare for Filipinos,” said Ylanan. -MDM, GMA News
