Cisco expands Webex platform with new features
Global technology firm Cisco on Wednesday unveiled new features of its web conferencing platform under the new Webex Suite, with the Philippines still under quarantines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a virtual briefing, Cisco Philippines managing director Karrie Ilagan said 98% of future meetings expect to include at least one remote participant, blending remote, and in-person interactions.
Cisco has since expanded its Webex Suite to include more features aimed to promote inclusive hybrid work and events.
"We are bringing innovations to our portfolio with that in mind, and with Webex Suite, everyone has a seat at the table, everyone's voice can be heard, and it's a platform where discussions are made equitable," said Ilagan.
According to Cisco managing director for software Hariharan S, the company added some 800 new features and devices to Webex to make it more flexible and inclusive.
Among the new features is a more integrated system of meetings, calling, messaging, and events. The platform has included more audience interaction tools such as quizzes and polls.
The software has also introduced more intelligence capabilities with its noise removal, speech enhancement, and camera intelligence.
