Pump prices up for 5th straight week Tuesday


Motorists will again have to pay more for petroleum products starting Tuesday, as firms announced another round of price hikes to mark the fifth straight week of increases.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.55, diesel by P0.90, and kerosene by P0.95.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and PTT Philippines Corp., will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, for all firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the adjustments at 4:01 p.m. and Caltex at 12:01 a.m. the same day.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) indicates that year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of p14.55 per liter for gasoline, P12.05 per liter for diesel, and P9.70 per liter for kerosene as of September 21, 2021. — RSJ, GMA News
