Gasoline, diesel, kerosene price rollback set Tuesday; 2021 net increases over P17/liter

Oil firms will implement a price rollback in the pump prices of petroleum products in the last week of 2021, but this is not enough to offset the hikes implemented earlier in the year.

In separate advisories, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said they will cut prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, diesel by P0.85, and kerosene by P0.85.

Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 8:01 a.m. the same day.

A kerosene price freeze was implemented in areas under the state of calamity in the Visayas and Mindanao regions due to Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai).

Several oil companies also decided not to implement last week’s hike in gasoline and diesel in provinces hit by Odette.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy show that year-to-date adjustments stand at a total net increase of P17.85 per liter for gasoline, P14.95 per liter for diesel, and P12.39 per liter for kerosene as of December 21, 2021.
