Unilab apologizes over temporary shortage of some medicine brands

Local pharmaceutical giant Unilab Inc. on Tuesday apologized to its customers over the temporary shortage of some of its brands in selected drugstores due to "extraordinary demand."

"This is to inform the public that some of our brands are temporarily out of stock in select drugstores due to extraordinary demand," it said in a statement.

"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused," Unilab added.

Nonetheless, the pharmaceutical firm said it will restock its medicine soon.

"We assure you that we are working with our partner drugstores and retailers to accelerate replenishment at the soonest possible time," it said.

Unilab's products include bioflu, neozep, and biogesic, among others.

Earlier, the  Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) also said it is having a temporary shortage of certain paracetamol brands as more people get sick.

This comes even as the Department of Health said there are no shortage of paracetamol and other flu pills. —LDF, GMA News
