AirAsia announces Chinese New Year, 2.2 promo fares

AirAsia Philippines on Tuesday announced promotional deals in celebration of the Chinese New Year, along with its "Save Now, Fly Later" sale.

The company said in an advisory that one-way base fares were as low as P188, with travel dates covering January 17, 2022, to September 30, 2022. 

The promotional fares will be available until Sunday, January 30, 2022.

AirAsia also announced its 2.2 Sale, which includes one-way base fares as low as P22 with a travel period from June 1 to September 30, 2022, available for booking from February 2 to 4.

The carrier will also offer up to 10% off of staycations and hotel stays with its promo code ‘AAHOTEL10.’

“As we continue to learn how to better live safely in a pandemic, we see the rise in the confidence for travel among Filipinos,” AirAsia Philippines spokesperson and head of communications Steve Dailisan said in the advisory.

“We at AirAsia would like to help more Filipino families and friends to reconnect this year to celebrate milestones and seasons they have missed in recent years,” he added.

AirAsia Philippines suspended operations for nearly three months in 2020, following the travel restrictions imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
It resumed operations in June 2020, albeit on a limited basis, depending on the prevailing travel guidelines across the flight destinations.

The carrier, along with Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, earlier appealed to the government to provide P8.6 billion in assistance to the airline industry. — VBL, GMA News
