Jollibee to open first store in West Malaysia on Feb. 8
Homegrown fast-food giant Jollibee will open its first restaurant in West Malaysia on February 8.
In a statement on Thursday, Jollibee said its first store in West Malaysia features the brand’s latest restaurant design with bright and bold wall murals that showcase Jollibee's menu items, long history in the food business, and wide store network around the world.
The restaurant, located at Sunway Pyramid, Klang Valley, can accommodate 62 people following government physical distancing guidelines.
“West Malaysians can finally get a taste of the brand’s world-famous Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, Yumburger and Spicy Chickenjoy,” Jollibee said.
In July last year, Jollibee announced it formed a joint venture company, through its Singapore-based wholly-owned subsidiary, Golden Plate Pte. Ltd. (GPPL), with Beeworks Investment Pte. Ltd. (BIPL) that will own and operate Jollibee stores in West Malaysia.
Under the agreement, the parties will establish a company in Malaysia that will be owned 30% by GPPL and 70% by BIPL.
The joint venture aims to open at least 120 stores within 10 years, starting in 2022. — VBL, GMA News
