Cleanfuel extends price rollback for diesel until March 21

Petroleum retailer Cleanfuel on Friday announced the extension of its price rollback for diesel.

Cleanfuel announced in an advisory that it will extend its price reduction from March 18 to March 21. The initial three-day price rollback was supposed to end on Friday.

An industry source told GMA News Online on Friday that the price per liter of diesel may go down by P12.51 next week.

Gasoline prices, meanwhile, may be slashed by P6.57 per liter.

Fuel firms usually announce price changes every Monday and implement the adjustments on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi floated a possible oil price rollback next week due to the recent developments in countries such as China, Ukraine, and Russia.

On Tuesday, fuel firms hiked diesel by P13.15 per liter, gasoline by P7.10 per liter, and kerosene by P10.50 per liter.

Prices of petroleum products have increased for 11 consecutive weeks since the beginning of the year, bringing the year-to-date adjustments for diesel to a net increase of P30.65 per liter, gasoline at P20.35 per liter, and kerosene at P24.90 per liter. — VBL, GMA News
