Six local firms among Institutional Investor’s 2022 ‘honored’ companies


At least six homegrown Philippine firms were included in the list of honored companies in Asia, excluding Japan, in global business publication Institutional Investor’s 2022 Executive Team Survey.

Institutional Investor defines honored companies as those who achieved at least one published position.

Based on the poll results published in the Institutional Investor website, the six local firms in the list are D&L Industries Inc., Century Pacific Foods, PLDT Inc., Bank of the Philippine Islands, Metro Pacific Investments Corp., and International Container Terminal Services Inc.

Institutional Investor is an international business-to-business publisher, focused primarily on international finance.

D&L was ranked fifth among Consumer Staples in the Small and Midcap Category and seventh among Consumer Staples in the Asia category while CNPF ranked third in the same category.

BPI was ranked fifth among Banks in the Small and Midcap category while PLDT was seventh among Telecommunications in the came category.

For Industrials in Asia excluding China and Japan, MPIC was ranked third followed by ICTSI in fifth place.

Institutional Investor rated companies based on the following: environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) attributes, namely corporate ESG strategy; ESG engagement; and ESG disclosure.

Survey results reflected the opinions from 4,854 investment professionals at 1,612 financial services firms.—AOL, GMA News
