Grab partners with Pasig, Quezon City LGUs for tricycle delivery service

Grab Philippines on Wednesday announced partnerships with the local government units of Pasig and Quezon cities for the inter-city delivery of GrabMart services using tricycles.

The service provider said it partnered with the Tricycle Operation and Regulatory Office for the pilot rollout of the service in Pasig.

Grab said it has already delivered some 1,000 groceries and GrabMart orders in the city and was in talks with Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto to increase the number of drivers.

The company said it is also currently onboarding tricycle driver partners in Quezon City to roll out the new inter-city grocery and GrabMart delivery services before the fourth quarter of the year.

“The success of the pilot rollout of GrabMart Trike Delivery in Pasig prompted the future expansion of the program in additional cities, starting with Quezon City,” it said in a statement.

Grab Philippines last month announced the acquisition of motorcycle taxi firm Move It, which will continue to operate as a separate entity. Details of the finances of the transaction were not disclosed. — VBL, GMA News
