Grab Philippines looking for more drivers, offers P6K-P10K bonus
Ride-hailing company Grab Philippines is looking to onboard more drivers to meet the rising demand from commuters for transport network vehicle services (TNVS).
The company offers an incentive program to TNVS only registered with Grab in an effort to entice new drivers.
Grab is offering up to P10,000 worth of driver bonuses and legal assistance for applicants with six-seater vehicles and up to P6,000 for those with four-seater vehicles.
It said the call for drivers to onboard came as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is opening 4,433 TNVS slots on January 9.
"Grab Philippines experienced a shortage of driver partners [on] its platform due to [a] mobility standstill," the company said.
"Pandemic-induced challenges led to some driver partners losing their loaned cars to repossession or driver partners moving on to other economic opportunities elsewhere," it added.
Grab said it is optimistic that its bonus scheme initiative will help address its shortage of driver partners and meet the growing demand for GrabCar services as the economy continues to reopen. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
