Lanson Place to open in Mall of Asia complex in Q3

Luxury personal hotel and residences operator Lanson Place, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Wing Tai Properties Ltd., is set to open its new property in the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City in collaboration with the SM Hotel and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC).

In a statement, Lanson Place said the new development is set to open in the third quarter of 2023, featuring contemporary and traditional architecture with over 247 hotel rooms and 142 serviced residences.

“Our vision for this project was to provide our guests with sophisticated and dynamic spaces that they can call home. We look forward to continuing to grow our Asia footprint and to add this exciting development to the Philippine community,” Lanson Place chief executive officer Michael Hobson said.

Wing Tai currently manages six properties under the Lanson Place brand, including luxury personal hotels and residences in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. It is also set to open a Melbourne property in 2024.

The property will also feature art pieces curated by Nestor Jardin, who previously served as president and artistic director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

“The vision for the Lanson Place Mall of Asia’s art program is to complement this contemporary architecture and interior design, thereby creating spaces that exude contemporary aesthetics and appeal to the target market,” Jardin said.

SMHCC, for its part, is made of seven hotel properties with a combined inventory of 1,722 rooms and over 38,000 square meters of leasable convention space.

Its portfolio includes Taal Vista Hotel, Pico Sands Hotel, Conrad Manila, Radisson Blu Cebu, Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, and the SMX Convention Centers. —Jon Viktor D. Cabeunas/KBK, GMA Integrated News
