Bill deposit refunds disbursed by MORE Power

Razon-led MORE Electric and Power Corp., the power distribution utility in Iloilo City, has disbursed bill deposit refunds to eligible consumers.

In a press release issued Tuesday, the firm said it had distributed the second round of refunds on July 7. The company said the refunds aims to offer financial relief to valued customers.

MORE Power president Roel Castro said the bill deposit refunds are not considered rewards but a part of consumers' rights.

"We have implemented this program in strict compliance with the law. The bill deposit does not belong to us; it rightfully belongs to our consumers. We are dutifully fulfilling our responsibility by returning what is rightfully theirs," Castro said.

The company is aiming to provide refunds to consumers who have consistently paid their bills on time for three years, consistent with the Magna Carta.

According to MORE Power, a total of 20 eligible customers were refunded a total of P65,500 in bill deposits in June 2023. For the month of July, at least 65 customers will be eligible for the bill deposit refund. —Anna Felicia Bajo/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
