GCash: Funds, accounts secure after intermittent service issues

Globe-backed mobile wallet GCash on Tuesday said its users’ accounts and funds remain intact following intermittent accessibility issues encountered by customers.

On Monday, users of the mobile wallet experienced difficulty accessing some of GCash services.

“As of October 9, 7:00 p.m., the intermittent issues have been addressed and all affected services are accessible,” GCash said.

“We assure our customers that their accounts and funds remain secure,” it added.

The mobile wallet said it is continuously rolling out safety and security measures to prevent unsecured devices from accessing the app.

“The latest security deployment is part of ongoing enhancements to ensure the safest and most secure experience for our customers,” GCash said.

“Our official channels remain open and accessible for any concerns,” the mobile wallet said.

Users were also advised to never share their MPIN and One-time PIN (OTP) with anyone.

“GCash will never send emails or messages with links nor reach out to customers via calls and other messaging platforms,” it said.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
