Over 1,000 Grab drivers avail of free health, other services during fair
During a Grab-initiated family wellness fair in Pasig, more than 1,000 of the ride-hailing app's driver-partners and their family members availed of free health services and accessed government services offered during the fair.
Among the health services offered during the fair were medical screenings, free medicines, and eye examinations.
Grab also invited partners from the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG fund to motivate the attendees to register as members of these agencies.
“We continue to recognize the hard work and dedication of our driver-partners as they ply busy thoroughfares daily just to ensure a better future for their families. Their aspirations realized and goals met inspire us to relentlessly develop impactful engagement programs that are tailored to enhance diverse aspects of their lifestyle,” CJ Lacsican, Head of Central Operations for Grab, said in a Monday press release.
“In our recent wellness fair, we zeroed in on proper nutrition, effective stress management, preventive care, and social protection because we want to help them prioritize their own well-being, which is often overlooked due to the demanding nature of their livelihoods on the road,” Lacsican added.
For his part, Alexander Hilario Aguilar, Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Member Services, said that they wanted to ensure that access to their benefits and programs would remain inclusive.
“Thousands of Grab PH driver-partners have already registered as Pag-IBIG members, and now have secure savings and access to our home loan programs. We expect this to further rise in the coming months as we continue to strengthen our partnership," Aguilar said.
Meanwhile, Grab also placed booths for SSS and Pag-IBIG in its partner centers as it wants to ensure that existing and aspiring driver-partners can easily connect with representatives from the agencies for queries and registration.
Grab also offered workshops and talks about critical health topics such as wellness and healthy diet, prevention of non-communicable diseases, cervical cancer awareness, and safety training from the Red Cross. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
