Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) president and chief executive officer Anna Maria Margarita Bautista-Dy was the sole Filipino included in this year’s “Asia’s Power Businesswomen” list compiled by Forbes.

In its writeup, Forbes cited Dy’s leadership of ALI amid the accelerated launch of residential projects to meet the surging housing demand.

Dy took charge of the company in October, after serving as the company’s executive vice president since January 1, 2023, and chief operating officer since April 26, 2023.

She also serves as the chairman of AREIT Inc., head of the Residential Business Group and the Malls Group of the company, and officer of various companies within the ALI Group.

ALI reported a 41% climb in its first-half net income to P11.4 billion, as consolidated revenues grew by 24% to P66 billion.

“The 20 outstanding women featured on this year’s Forbes Asia’s Power Businesswomen list are undeterred by new economic realities,” Rana Wehbe Watson, list editor, said in a statement.

“From top executives at leading business and financial institutions — who are, in many cases, the first woman to take on these roles — to those driving their family businesses to new heights or starting their own, these trailblazers are truly unstoppable,” she added.

Also featured in this year’s list are Suntory Beverage & Food CEO Makiko Ono, Taobao and Tmall CEO Trudy Dai, Samsung Electronics president of global marketing Lee Young-hee, and Worldwide Hotels CEO and managing director Carolyn Choo.

Other listees include Jyothy Labs managing director M.R. Jyothy, Perfect Corp. founder and CEO Alice Chang, Dusit International CEO Suphajee Suthumpun, Bank Permata president director Meliza Musa Rusli, Reserve Bank of Australia governor Michele Bullock, and Goldman Sachs head of private and growth equity in Asia Pacific Stephani Hui. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/KBK, GMA Integrated News
