Mixed movements in fuel prices seen next week

Motorists should expect movements in fuel pump prices next week.

Citing oil trading in the past four days, Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau Assistant Director Rodela Romero said that “both gasoline and diesel [may] have no adjustment at all or a rollback of P0.20 per liter.”

Meanwhile, kerosene might have a minimal increase or a rollback of P0.05 per liter.

Oil companies usually announce price adjustments every Monday, to be implemented the following day.

Effective Tuesday, January 2, 2024, fuel firms slashed the per-liter prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene by P0.10, P0.35, and P1.40, respectively.

As of the first trading week of 2024, the price adjustment for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene stands at a net decrease of P0.10 per liter, P0.35 per liter, and P1.40 per liter, respectively.

In Metro Manila, the prevailing retail prices of gasoline range from P53.40 to P76.15 per liter, diesel prices range between P50.49 and P66.50 per liter, and kerosene prices range from P70.64 to P82.03 per liter, according to Energy Department data as of January 2 to 4, 2024. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
