GCash 'back to normal' after temporary downtime

Financial application GCash, operated by G-XChange Inc., announced on Thursday that its services are "now fully operational."

This comes after Gcash announced a temporary downtime at around 11 a.m.

In an advisory, GCash said some of its customers may experience issues accessing its services but did not elaborate as to what in particular and the cause of such service interruptions.

“We are working to restore services as soon as possible. Rest assured that your funds are safe,” the advisory read.

In its post on X at around noon, Gcash said that "all Gcash services are now fully operational."

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," it added.

GCash —  which had over 79 million registered users as of May 2023 — is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mynt (Globe Fintech Innovations Inc.), which is in turn a partnership between Globe Telecom Inc., the Ayala Corp., and Ant Financial. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
