Vietnam's Vinfast to enter Philippines to make batteries, market EVs —Marcos
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday met with executives of the Vingroup Company on the first day of his state visit to Vietnam.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, Vingroup's subsidiary Vinfast is registering in the Philippines to be in electric vehicle (EV) marketing, energy storage and nickel processing partnerships.
"Siguro kilala niyo kung sino ‘yung Vingroup, ang iba sa inyo nandun sa Vingroup dahil sila ay gustong pumasok nila sa Pilipinas," Marcos said in a speech before the Filipino community later in the day.
"Papasok sila sa Pilipinas dahil interesado sila na gumawa ng baterya at ‘yan ang pinaka importanteng teknolohiya ngayon, at pati na magdala ng mga EV or electric vehicles," he added.
Vingroup is one of Vietnam’s leading private enterprises.
The PCO said multi-sector Vingroup focuses on three core pillars: technology and industry, trade and services, and social enterprise. —NB, GMA Integrated News
