Construction company EEI Corp. has been tapped by Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), the concessionaire of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), to construct the CAVITEX-Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Link Segment 4’s extension.

In a news release on Friday, EEI said it signed a P1.79-billion project contract with CIC.

EEI, citing a report to the Securities and Exchange Commission, said that it received a Letter of Acceptance issued by the CIC for the construction of the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (Segment 4 Extension) Project for a total contract price of P1,791,542,140.01.

Under the contract, the construction company said its scope of work covered the remeasurement and the construction of the 1.2-kilometer, 2x2-lane carriageway from the terminus of Segment 4 of CAVITEX in Tirona Highway to connect to CALAX.

EEI said its scope of work also covered the Kawit Toll admin compound and access road. In the detailed scope of work, components included a main alignment ramp, a main alignment elevated viaduct, Roads 1-3, and an intersection improvement in the affected portion of Centennial Road.

The segment four extension is set to connect CAVITEX and CALAX.
