GERI to spend initial P5B for township in Lian, Batangas


Global-Estate Resorts Inc. (GERI), a subsidiary of Megaworld Corp., on Monday said it is spending an initial P5 billion to develop a 150-hectare beachside property in Lian, Batangas, to mark the parent firm’s 32nd township development.

In an emailed statement, Megaworld said the property will be dubbed Lialto Beach and Golf Estates, which will have prime lots with sizes ranging from 300 square meters up to 1,200 square meters, including those along the fairways and on elevated areas.

The development will have a residential village, an 18-hole golf course, a beach clubhouse, a 20-meter tall lighthouse, landscape gardens, and a one-kilometer coastline that includes a beach area.

“We designed this development for people who want to be surrounded by the beautiful vistas of the beach and the sea, while also enjoying an unparalleled golf lifestyle,” Megaworld Global-Estate Inc. vice president of sales and marketing Javier Romeo Abustan said.

GERI’s other communities include Eastland Heights in Antipolo, Rizal; Twin Lakes in Laurel, Batangas; Boracay Newcoast in Boracay Island; The Hamptons Caliraya in Lumban-Cavinti, Laguna; Sta. Barbara Heights in Iloilo; and Arden Botanical Estate in Trece Martires-Tanza, Cavite.

Its other developments include Southwoods City in the Laguna-Cavite boundary, and Sherwood Hills in Trece Martires, Cavite.

Other subsidiaries of Megaworld include the Richmonde Hotel Group International Limited, Eastwood Cyber One Corp., Empire East Land Holdings Inc., Global-Estate Resorts Inc., and Bonifacio West Development Corp.

Shares in the company were last traded at P1.90 apiece, up by P0.05 or 2.70% from last Friday’s finish of P1.85.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
