Sealants manufacturer invites boatmen to submit inspiring stories

Sealants and adhesives manufacturer Bostik Philippines has launched a campaign seeking inspiring stories of Filipino boatmen for a chance to win new bancas.

With its “Pabangka ni El Kapitan Marine Epoxy Promo,” the company is looking to capture boatmen's stories "from rivers and seas, with a chance to win a brand-new bangka."

Running first in Luzon from April 11 to June 23, 2025, the promo seeks stories on the real-life struggles and triumphs of Filipino boatmen who serve as lifelines to many coastal communities.

"The boatmen who wake up before sunrise, brave the changing tides and inclement weather to keep entire communities connected and sustained. We want to hear their stories, celebrate their courage, and help them continue their journeys with pride,” said Fides Kasman, Director of Market Development at Bostik Philippines.

Boatmen in Luzon are invited to share their stories by filling out a Google Form, where they will answer a few questions and talk about what “Pabangka ni El Kapitan Marine Epoxy Promo”—a symbol of their boat and livelihood—means to them.

Stories will be judged based on authenticity, emotional impact, and how the prize could benefit the participant in the long term.

Two stories will be declared winners, with the boatmen behind the stories taking home a brand-new bangka each. Winners will be announced on June 25, 2025, in the presence of a DTI representative.
