Bus company hit with complaints of mocking PWD, animal cruelty
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will issue two show cause orders to bus firm Pangasinan Solid North Transit Inc. after two separate complaints from riders.
In a Facebook post, one complainant alleged that the conductor on her bus laughed at her child and called them "pipi" (mute).
In another Facebook post, the second complainant said her bus conductor took her pet carrier—containing her cat—and threw it into the baggage compartment, with the conductor and the driver making comments about the cat possibly dying because of the heat. She eventually got off the bus with her cat before reaching her destination.
“If the LTFRB is not satisfied and will find cause doon sa complaint, papatawan yung operator ng kaukulang penalty or a suspension or revocation of the franchise, if so warrants. Hindi lang administrative case ang maaaring ipataw roon. Yan din ay criminal case,” LTFRB spokesperson Ariel Inton told GMA Integrated News.
Anna Cabrera of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society also said they are ready to help the cat owner file a complaint, if she so decides.
The bus company told GMA Integrated News that it is already looking into the complaints. — BM, GMA Integrated News
