US firm Vertiv opens Asia regional training hub in PH
Ohio-based digital infrastructure solutions provider Vertiv on Wednesday opened a training facility in the Philippines, set to be Asia Pacific’s hub in developing technical expertise in IT infrastructure power and cooling in the region.
Vertiv—global firm providing power, cooling, and other solutions to data centers, communication networks, industrial facilities— launched the Vertiv Academy at its office in Mandaluyong City.
“The Vertiv Academy reflects our long-term commitment to developing world-class engineering talent, not just to support our growth but to help shape the future of digital infrastructure across the region. Investing in our people and their expertise strengthens the foundation for scalable, resilient, and environmentally responsible digital ecosystems,” said Paul Churchill, Vertiv Asia vice president and general manager.
The facility will provide Vertiv’s engineers across the region with training in using its equipment and other IT infrastructure solutions.
“The Vertiv Academy is more than just a training center— it’s a launchpad for the next generation of industry professionals,” said Andrew Whall, Vertiv Asia vice president of operations.
“From in-depth product simulations to globally recognized certifications, we’re enabling engineers to meet the evolving demands of data centers, telecom networks, and enterprise IT,” said Whall.
Amid US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy, Whall said Vertiv is focusing on its region-based manufacturing strategy to mitigate risks arising from the US trade policy.
“The tariff rules are changing daily… We manufacture in China, we manufacture in India, we're manufacturing in this region… so that way we can balance out the impacts of tariffs,” Whall said. — BM, GMA Integrated News
