Emirates, PAL eye partnership for enhanced passenger operations

Emirates Airlines and PAL are looking to explore a partnership to offer more convenient schedules and services for the public.

Emirates Airlines and the Philippine Airlines (PAL) are looking to explore a partnership to offer more convenient schedules and services for the public.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the two airlines are looking into a reciprocal code sharing agreement on Philippines-Dubai flights and other routes of each airline.

They will also explore their cargo interline cooperation to analyze the best ground handling, catering, maintenance, and technical training techniques, as well as to offer joint familiarization trips for key media and trade stakeholders.

“A code sharing partnership could potentially give travelers better connectivity to new and exciting destinations beyond each airline’s own network, with the convenience of a single ticket, one competitive fare and one baggage policy for their entire journey,” the statement read.

Both Emirates and PAL first signed an agreement in March 2023 and have since been connecting travelers to 10 domestic points in Cebu and Clark, as well as 9 international points in Dubai. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
