PrimeWater-Bacolod says it delivered another 3 million liters daily supply
Villar-led PrimeWater, through its joint venture partner Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA), said it has delivered an additional three million liters per day of water supply through a recently activated treatment plant.
In a news release on Thursday, PrimeWater-BACIWA said the activation of Matab-ang Water Treatment Plant in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City “will address the current demand of the city by providing [additional] three million liters per day, increasing [supply] to six MLD within the year.”
The company said the additional supply will improve the supply of approximately 5,000 households in Bacolod City, particularly in Barangays 27, 28, 30, Estefania, Villlamonte and Mandalagan.
“This project is just one of the initiatives and developments we are implementing together with our joint venture partner, BACIWA, to ensure a more stable water supply that we provide to our consumers,” said PrimeWater.
It added that the new water development project involves constructing a transmission line spanning about one kilometer from the plant to the injection point in a 2.6-million-gallon reservoir in Loygoy which will then be distributed to each household.
“PrimeWater and BACIWA are committed to delivering a sustainable water supply and better water service to Bacolodnons by developing and carrying out projects that will guarantee a more dependable supply to every consumer,” the company said.
PrimeWater is currently in hot water after President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. ordered an investigation into the water company’s operations due to numerous service-related complaints.
The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) will be the lead agency in the investigation.
PrimeWater, meanwhile, said it welcomed “any opportunity for an open and meaningful dialogue to resolve concerns and commit to cooperating with LWUA.”
The company added that it is intensifying its initiatives to address the requirements and satisfy the demand particularly those in challenged areas. — BM, GMA Integrated News
