Aboitiz Construction completes new berth in Davao del Norte

The construction arm of the Aboitiz Group on Wednesday said it has completed the design and construction of the new berth of DICT Bulk Terminal Inc., the joint venture of the Davao International Container Terminal Inc. and Philcement Corp.

According to Aboitiz Construction, the new berth—measuring 200 meters long and 18.5 meters wide—has the capacity to accommodate vessels with a deadweight tonnage of up to 60,000 and will be equipped with a state-of-the-art material handling system.

Located in Panabo City in Davao del Norte, the new berth brings DICT's berth length to 930 meters, in line with the increasing demand for bulk cargo handling in Mindanao.

"Our continuing partnership with DICT—spanning projects since 2017—has allowed us to showcase our engineering and construction expertise in delivering quality infrastructure that supports the region's growth," Aboitiz Construction President and Chairman Anton Perdices said in an emailed statement.

The Aboitiz Group, through its domestic and international subsidiaries, is involved in power, food and beverage, financial services, real estate, and infrastructure.
